2026

Longwick Village Hall Committee would like to thank Leigh Burnett and her team on the fete Committee for all their hard work and dedication into delivering a very successful and amazing fete on May 3rd 2026. We would also like to thank the group of volunteers who helped on the day of the fete, their help and support is fully appreciated.

A big thankyou to Longwick School for providing the school field and playground for the fete visitors to park on.

We started the fete with the announcement that our long- term serving MC host was retiring. Alan Bairstow had been involved with the Village Hall and the fete for many years, but he has now retired his services. Thankyou Alan Bairstow for giving your support and dedication to the Village Hall, fete and the wider community.  Chiltern voice hosted the fete and they did an amazing job. Thankyou.

The fete was a very well planned and a successful event. We had Pony rides, dog shows, a bubble wand demonstration, tombola, craft stalls, zorb balls, bouncy inflatables, magicians, dancers, reptiles, bughouse, mayday garlands. Longwick School children performed a dance around the maypole and pre-school children sang and danced too. The raffle had lots of prizes which were donated by many different companies and we would like to thank all the companies for their continued support each year. There was lots of food stalls, plus a wonderful outside bar run by Andrew McLennan and a slushie stall for the children. Cakes, tea and Coffee were available from the Women’s Institute. Thankfully the weather stayed bright and sunny for most of the day.

The Committee would like to thank the members of the public for all the donations that were sent in for the tombola, and for the continuous support of the visitors that come each year from the surrounding areas within Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The Longwick Village Hall Committee would like to thank the Parish Council for allowing the fete to take place on the playing field at no extra cost.

This community event has been in place to support the upkeep of the Longwick Village Hall for almost the same amount of time as the new Village Hall has been standing.

The fetes total amount raised was £7,135 and this will go towards the essential needs of keeping the Village Hall maintained and please be aware that in order for the fete to run, the Village Hall has had to pay money out for some stalls to attend and acts to perform, raffle books and signage for the day, allowing this to create a fantastic day for all.

In the evening there was an afterparty in the Village Hall. We would like to thank Alan Livingston and his team for a very enjoyable night.

If anyone has any questions about this please call Kim Sulston on 07792030939.
